Dan Jones Named CEO of St. Francis Hospital

Columbus, Georgia – (November 27, 2017) – St. Francis Hospital today announced that Dan Jones, MHA, FACHE, has been named chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately.  He has been serving as the interim CEO at the hospital since August.

“Dan has demonstrated a strong commitment to St. Francis and its communities since serving as interim CEO,” said Cherie Sibley, chief operating officer (COO) of LifePoint Health’s Central Group, of which St. Francis is a part. “His leadership and passion for ensuring the delivery of high quality care and ensuring St. Francis continues to be a place where people choose to come for care, physicians want to practice and employees want to work will ensure the continued growth and success of St. Francis into the future. We are thrilled he is assuming this role on a permanent basis.”

Jones has more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience – ranging in scope from daily hospital operations and multi-site health system management to ambulatory and inpatient care and strategic planning and execution.  

Prior to joining St. Francis, Jones served as CEO of Abrazo Central Campus, a 280-bed, two-campus system in Phoenix, Arizona, where he led a successful strategic turnaround effort that specifically addressed leadership stability, company culture, clinical reliability, operational efficiencies and employee engagement. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri, and has held numerous hospital leadership roles with HCA and Tenet Healthcare including CJW Medical Center in Richmond Va and Memorial Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. He also has held leadership positions for global and national healthcare companies, including Nueterra Healthcare International, Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, and Quorum Health Resources in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Jones holds a Master of Health Services Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. He also is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
