LPN Arvelta Brown Named DAISY Award Winner

Hearty congratulations to our own Arvelta Brown, LPN, St. Francis-Emory Healthcare’s most recent DAISY Award recipient, recognizing the extraordinary compassion and care our nurses provide every day. It was a literal clean sweep for Brown and her nomination this month, recognized by a patient, a physician and one of her clinical colleagues.

“She went above and beyond without ask of recognition. Arvelta, while educating a patient on his discharge plan and asking his needs, discovered that this patient could not pay for his dose of home antibiotic and took it upon herself to cover the cost out of her own pocket. She saw someone in need and helped without hesitation. Though it was only a few dollars for her, it made a difference to someone who otherwise would have gone without. We need more nurses like Arvelta, who will take the time to listen and connect with their patients.”
