Meet Dr. Gregory Sfakianos

Gregory Sfakianos, MD, a board-certified gynecologic oncologist, began practicing since Columbus in 2012. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2005 then completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UAB. He earned board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

When possible, Dr. Sfakianos uses minimally invasive techniques to treat women with gynecological cancers, reducing blood loss, decreasing pain and speeding recovery. In fact, he is the first gynecologic oncologist in the Chattahoochee Valley region to be trained in robotic surgery techniques, utilizing the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System at St. Francis Women's Hospital.

Dr. Sfakianos works with surgeons specializing in cancer treatment at the St. Francis Center for Surgical Care. Together, this team brings women the latest in diagnostics and most comprehensive cancer care possible.

For more information, call the office at 706-243-4594. We take a patient-centered approach to providing women with the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment techniques available.

“We kind of use the catch phrase ‘listen’ because it whispers,” said Dr. Gregory Sfakianos. “Patients may have just vague abdominal pain, discomfort, bloating, distension, changes in their bowel habits, usually with constipation, maybe more frequent urination.”
