Nurse Shakita Johnson Receives DAISY Award Honor

The DAISY Award recognizes the extraordinary compassion and care nurses provide every day. Congratulations to 2-North’s Shakita Johnson, RN, St. Francis-Emory Healthcare’s latest recipient of this honor. Shakita was nominated by a patient’s family member:
“Shakita has gone over and beyond the call of duty with the tasks placed before her. She not only takes care of her patient but she also updates, informs, and educates the family. There has not been a question I’ve asked nor a request I’ve made that hasn’t been answered or performed.
“Her contagious laughter, pep talks, and warm conversations are something she did not have to offer … To say everything she’s done for us in the nearly two weeks and counting would reach far beyond the pages of this booklet and word count. I’ll simply say that we were blessed to have her in our lives for such a time as this. I thank her for making this difficult time seamless.”
